David Kempf
I am an A&P / I.A. mechanic that has been maintaining aircraft since 1994. I have worked professionally as a mechanic since 1995. I have worked for a Beechcraft dealer, a Cessna Citation Service Center, Cutter Aviation, United Airlines, and I am currently employed as a Director of Maintenance on a large corporate jet. I started my flying career in 1994 as well, but was unable to continue my flight training as my maintenance career continued to be more successful. I recently resumed my flight training and have spent the last 3 years continuing my training. I have achieved my CFI and am still working toward my CFII.
I have been involved with aviation my entire life as my childhood included flying standby on United Airlines out of Chicago’s O’Hare airport and dreaming of flying such incredible machines, to learning how to fix them immediately after high school. I was fortunate enough to have the mentorship of a few lifelong professional instructors that helped me see how flight training used to be and what methods they found to be very effective over their past 40 years of flight training. I have recently been given the opportunity to continue furthering my aviation experience by operating a few 1974 Cessna 172’s as a small business. This business will offer rentals to private pilots, allows instructors to teach in them, and keeps the cost of realizing the dream of flying as low as possible by surrounding myself with a community of people that love flying and love to do anything that is involved with flying.
Our business is associated with those afore mentioned instructors that continue their love of aviation by continuing to pass on their vast knowledge to the next generation of pilots. They operate a ground training business that also offers a Red Bird flight simulator that allows you to stay IFR current in a much more efficient manner than renting an aircraft.
